We are taught that every single person is created b’tzelem elohim, in the image of the divine. (Genesis 1:27)
You are welcome if you have never meditated before, and if you have been meditating for decades. You are welcome if you have never done anything Jewish before, if you are orthodox, progressive, non-denominational, all or none of these. You are welcome if you are female, male, non-binary, trans, fluid, and of any other gender. You are welcome if you are queer, gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, asexual, and any other sexuality. You are welcome wherever you and your family are from in the world; you are welcome if you are a person of colour, are white, mixed, or confused about Jewish ethnicity. You are welcome if you are neurodiverse. You are welcome if your background is working class, middle class, or anything else. You are welcome if you are a Jew, or not a Jew, if you are a Jew by heritage and if you are a Jew by choice. Whatever your relationship with God; whatever your relationship with the word God; whatever your feelings and views, your belief or disbelief or both or neither: you are welcome. Whatever the conflict in Israel, Gaza and Palestine is making you feel, or not feel, you are welcome.
